INGREDIENTS PACKAGING AND LABELING

Every country has its own rules governing the manufacturing, testing, labeling, and marketing of cosmetics. Find out about the local laws (and those of the regions you plan to ship to) to ensure that your approach is legally correct and safe.
When buying ingredients, keep the following points in mind:
• Are the ingredients suitable for manufacturing skincare products and approved for use in skincare in your country? Coconut oil, for example, is available in two grades: culinary and skincare.
• Do you value natural ingredients?
• What, if any, preservatives will you be using? How does this affect shelf life?
• Are your products marketed under ecological/sustainable aspects? Make sure the supplier has the appropriate certifications. These will differ from country to country.
• Track the supply chain. Is the supplier reputable? Can he offer references?
• How are the labeling laws in your country and the countries you ship to?
• Are certain ingredients known to be common allergens?
